Film of the Week :: LIAF 2011 Trailer by Bianca Ansems (2011)

To mark the return of the London International Animation Festival (LIAF) which kicked off on 26th August, this week’s FOTW is this enchanting trailer for the festival, by Bianca Ansems.

Incorporating the leading theme of this year’s LIAF – “cut-out” – Ansems has succeeded where only great animation can, and taken us into a world we’d never get the chance to see in real life. This world is the deepest depths of the London Thames. No longer full of shopping trolleys and The Krays’ unlucky “associates”, through Bianca’s eyes the Thames is now an underwater abyss that would give Sea World a run for its money.

The trailer is a great example of the quality of work you can view at the UK’s largest animation festival. Showcasing more than 250 films annually and screening over ten days and nights, LIAF should not be missed!
